FontGear has released FontDoctor 8 for Macintosh. It’s an update of the font problem diagnosis and repair utility for graphic designers and the publishing industry.
The new version can identify and fix common font related problems that often interrupt creative workflow and production, according to the folks at FontGear. FontDoctor can also optimize workflow by creating a library of manageable font files and folders organized by font foundry name, family name, and more.
Version 8 introduces an updated interface, faster diagnosis and repair, enhanced reporting with charts, updated font cache cleaning, and a new font comparison tool used to contrast the unique properties of separate font files side-by-side.
FontDoctor 8 is available for US$69.99 for a single user license, and $350 for a site license. Version 7.x users can upgrade to version 8 for $19.99.
FontDoctor 8 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 and higher. Purchases, upgrades and a demo version are available from the FontGear web site (http://www.FontGear.net).
