On the new “MacVoices” (http://www.macvoices.com), the “Road to Macworld” continues with Kyle Wiens, co-founder and CEO of “iFixit” and the main man of the Macworld Expo feature presentation “iFixit live! The Teardown Experts Show Off Apple’s Hardware — From the Inside Out.”
He discusses how he got started taking things apart and why being able to do so is an important part of evaluating the lifespan and viability of electronics. Apple’s design and manufacturing decisions have impacted consumers’ ability to maintain and repair their devices. Wiens talks about the trends he sees and what they mean, Apple’s affect on the industry and how they compare to others, and how he and his team will attempt live repairs on audience-provided devices at his Macworld session.
The Road to Macworld 2010 is a special MacVoices series produced in partnership with Macworld to preview some of the exhibitors and presentations at Macworld 2011 in San Francisco from Jan. 26-29 at the Moscone Convention Center.
“MacVoices” is an Internet show and podcast that delivers in-depth discussions with the most influential people in the Mac industry, as well as “the individuals who are out there making it happen on the front lines of the global Apple community,” according to host Chuck Joiner.
