When I’m in transit I carry two Apple devices with me: my 11-inch MacBook Air and my iPad. Now there’s no need to carry two different cases, as I put both devices into the US$99.99 Ful Brooklyn backpack (http://macte.ch/eOd9j)

The backpack (also available in a messenger styled bag for $69.99) features a detachable case design that lets you unzip the iPad case from the laptop bag to give you a both a laptop bag and a separate iPad messenger case. When you want to carry your laptop and iPad together, zip the two cases together. When you only want to carry one of them with you — or wish have the Apple gadgets in two different cases — unzip ’em. Very cool.

The iPad case sports its own shoulder pad after it’s unzipped. The laptop case of the Brooklyn can hold up to a 15-inch MacBook Pro. Both are made of neoprene and 1680 Denier Nylon.

But, wait, there’s more. The Brooklyn also sports a fold-out water bottle pouch, built-in media compartments (if you really have a lot of Apple gear, you can stash an iPod touch in one — or a camera) and a headphone wire port. There’s also a full support back panel with airflow channels.

Despite the ability to haul around a big hunk of your digital world, the Brooklyn is more compact than you’d think. It feels quite rugged and offers significant protection for your goodies. Padded inserts protect everything inside the bags.

If you travel with an iPad and a laptop, the Brooklyn offers a versatile, safe way to travel with all your gizmos.
