Richard Kerris, a former Apple exec, is joining HP as vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations to help with webOS.

At Apple he helped lead projects like Final Cut Pro, Logic, and iLife. He also served as the senior senior director for Apple’s Worldwide Developer Relations group. Additionally, Kerris spent three years as chief technical officer of Lucasfilm.

According to “MobileCrunch” (http://macte.ch/DvBNm), at HP, Kerris will help promote and develop webOS, HP’s operating system (acquired from Palm) that’s based on Linux. HP says it’s going to ship WebOS not only in phones, tablets and printers, but in PC’s as well. In doing so, the world’s largest PC supplier hints they’ll be shipping PC’s without Windows.
