AT&T is acquiring T-Mobile, so Verizon may be eyeing Sprint, right? Wrong, according to Verizon CEO Daniel Mead.
“We’re not interested in Sprint. We don’t need them,” said Mead, speaking to “Reuters” (http://macte.ch/xfkFc) ahead of the CTIA Wireless Conference. He added that the company doesn’t want to be distracted from its goal of being the most profitable U.S. wireless operator.
Mead also told “Reuters” he wouldn’t oppose the AT&T/T-Mobile plans. He thinks U.S. regulators will likely approve the AT&T/T-Mobile deal if the companies agreed to certain conditions.
