eComposite has published DeckApp (http://deckapp.com), a Mac OS X (10.6.6 or higher) player that leverages your iTunes library and allows you to listen to your albums, one by one. It costs US$14.99 and is available at the Mac App Store in the Music Category.
Deckapp is designed to play without distraction. It replaces the iTunes player and is available by pressing a shortcut. DeckApp reads you iTunes library to find and catalog all your albums. It also connects to the Last.fm service.
You then have a single playlist of albums to play. Once you have finished that playlist, it goes back to the beginning. DeckApp also provides a mini view available at the touch of a keystroke: press it and you get a controller to skip, rewind, change albums.
“I am really looking forward to next sales and feedback from users on DeckApp. I really think that we need a simple, easy way to listen to our music, that’s a pleasure to use and see, and DeckApp provides such a great experience. But I want to improve it even more, and make it more simple and lightweight for everybody to enjoy their songs and albums.”
