InfiniteNIL Software has introduced Packrat Lite 1.0 (http://www.infinitenil.com/packrat), a free version of its Mac OS X desktop client for 37signals’ Backpack web application. Packrat Lite uses the Backpack API [application programming interface] to download your Backpack data to your computer.
You can view the data much like you do in Backpack, whether or not you’are connected to the Internet. The full version of Packrat lets you edit the data as well and keeps changes in sync with Backpack.
Packrat Lite has all the same features of the full version, except editing your data, such as:
° Packrat Lite supports multiple Backpack accounts;
° Attachments and images are downloaded when you sync, so you can access them when you’re offline;
° You can use your Backpack data offline;
° The app uses Growl to notify you of your reminders;
° You can hide your completed list items to save screen real estate.
Packrat Lite requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or late and a Backpack Account. It’s available through the Mac App Store in the Productivity category.
