Tidal Pool Software has announces MacProxy 2.0, an update of the software that provides system-wide network proxy support for the Mac.
The upgrade offers support for HTTP/web proxy protocols, including transparent, non-transparent, and connect. There’s also SSH tunnel support, multiple user support and more.
MacProxy forwards network traffic from applications that don’t support proxies and avoids complex setup for applications that do. The app allows you to surf the Internet from behind a firewall, tether your Mac to a smartphone, and navigate the Internet anonymously.
A variety of SOCKS and HTTP/web proxy protocols are supported and a proxy checker, to determine the type of proxy server, is included. Built-in SSH tunnel support provides secure Internet access.
MacProxy 2.0 is available immediately for download and is priced at US$29.99. A free, fully functional, 30-day demo is available at the product web site (http://www.tidalpool.ca/macproxy/). It requires an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X 10.6 or higher.
