Makers in the upstream supply chain for Apple laptop products will run in full gear starting July preparing for new MacBook Air models expected to arrive next month, reports “DigiTimes” (http://macte.ch/NCLOm), quoting sources in the supply chain. The new Airs are expected to ship when OS X Lion begins to prowl and include Sandy Bridge processors and Thunderbolt technology.
Apple is expected to take deliveries of over eight million MacBook Airs in the third quarter, nearly doubling from the previous quarter, says “DigiTimes.”
The publication’s sources have also raised the projected shipments of MacBook laptops for 2011 to 15 million units, compared to 13 million forecast previously.
