If you’ve been having problems with the sharp edge on your MacBook Pro where you press your arms and hands below the keyboard you’ll want to check out the US$8 Guardstrip (http://guardstrip.com/). It will save wear and tear on your palms and wrists.
The Guardstrip is made of black rubber strips with adhesive backing. The edge has a radius for comfortable palm or arm rest. Strips have a small lip that fits over the corner, but which doesn’t prevent your computer from closing. One strip is shorter to prevent it from covering the remote sensor.
To apply peel off the backing and stick the rubber strip onto the edge of your Apple laptop. The GuardStrip can be removed later if you wish as its adhesive is strong but not permanent.
Note that the sleep light will be covered by the strip. (Inventor Ken Dao says he figured the extra coverage of the edge was more important than the sleep light.) If you prefer the strip to be shorter to not cover the sleep light, you can simply cut it with some kitchen scissors — or ask Deo to send a shorter one to you. Of course, once it’s cut, there’s no changing your mind.
The GuardStrip is available for 13-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch MB Pros. If the sharp edge of your laptop is bothering you, it’s worth checking out.
Rating: 9 out of 10 (for those who need the protection)
