publicspace.net has announced MacBreakZ 5.03 (http://www.publicspace.net/MacBreakZ/), an update of the solution designed to address the spectrum of computer related health problems, ranging from eyestrain, headaches, neck, wrist, elbow and back pain to more severe Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI), including carpal tunnel syndrome, writer’s cramp, tendonitis, etc.

This latest release adds support for Growl notifications. The break reminder component of MacBreakZ features keyboard and mouse monitoring (without invading the user’s privacy) that allows it to react to individual computer usage patterns. What’s more, MacBreakZ promotes behavior modification by providing users with real-time feedback on the healthfulness of their observed work patterns.

Based on actual keyboard and mouse use and the time spent in front of the screen, MacBreakZ suggests rest and micro breaks at appropriate intervals. It includes a set of 42 fully illustrated stretching exercises designed to reduce muscular tension, improve posture and strengthen appropriate muscle groups.

MacBreakZ requires Mac OS X 10.6 or higher and is OS X 10.7 (“Lion”) compatible. Single user licenses cost US$24.99 and are available worldwide through the Mac App store in the Health and Fitness category under the alias “BreakZ 5.”
