Celmaro has introduced Plug Spy 1.0 (http://www.celmaro.com/plugspy/), an instant alert system for the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air running Mac OS X 10.7 (“Lion”). It’s available for US$0.99 at the Mac App Store in the Utilities category.
Plug Spy integrates with the OS X security system and needs no additional password or shortcut to remember. It runs inconspicuously in the system menu. Plug Spy auto activates when the screen is locked and starts a high volume alert sound, as well. It also sends a Growl notification if your laptop gets stolen.
When activated, Plug Spy “notices” if the MacBook gets unplugged from the MagSafe power adapter or if someone tries to close the lit. It can also capture a snapshot of the person in front of the laptop.
