“DigiTimes” (http://www.digitimes.com) — whose predictions have been hit or miss for accuracy — says upstream suppliers of Apple have recently started shipping a small volume of components for a 15-inch ultra-thin notebook model from Apple in November.
The device could be either a bigger MacBook Air or a thinner MacBook Pro. The new laptop is expected to appear as early as the second quarter of 2012, says “DigiTimes,” quoting unnamed sources from the upstream supply chain.
Apple currently has three screen sizes for the MacBook Pro: 13, 15 and 17 inches. The MacBook Air comes in 11-inch and 13-inch models.
