That Apple is sourcing the display from three suppliers underscores the challenges of manufacturing a 10-inch-class QXGA screen in high volume, he says, adding that Apple is working with three different manufacturers: Samsung, Sharp and LGD. The 2048×1536 screen will be the centerpiece the of the iPad 3, Shim says.
