According to a “DigiTimes” report (http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20111214PD204.html), Apple plans to offer a MacBook Pro with a display resolution of 2880 x 1880 in the second quarter of 2012.
Presently, the highest resolution on the 15-inch MacBook Pro line is 1680×1050 pixels, and the highest resolution on the 17-inch model is 1920×1200 pixels (though both can display higher resolutions on external monitors such as the Thunderbolt display). The “ultra-high resolution for the new MacBook Pro will further differentiate Apple’s products from other brands,” according to “DigiTimes.”
