Apple is working on “wearable computers” with the main goal of selling more iPhones, according to Nick Bilton, writing for “The New York Times” (http://macte.ch/rpsIs).
He says Apple is working on prototype products that could relay information back to the iPhone. These conceptual products could also display information on other Apple devices, like an iPod.
Quoting an unnamed “person with knowledge of the company’s plans,” Bilton says that a “very small group of Apple employees” has been conceptualizing and even prototyping some wearable devices. One idea being discussed is a curved-glass iPod that would wrap around the wrist via which people could communicate with the device using Apple’s Siri voice technology, he adds.
