Apple has released MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.8, which addresses a display flickering issue on the late 2008 15-inch MacBook Pro.
The update is for MacBook Pros running Mac OS X 10.5.8 or later — IF they’re running the latest or last updated versions of their respective operating systems. You can obtain the update via the Software Updates component of Mac OS X’s Systems Preferences app.
