iPad and iPad 2 ownership amongst the total mobile audience has seen a strong growth rate of 73.6% in the EU5 (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and UK) since February 2011, according to comScore (http://www.comscore.com), a company that “measures the digital world.”
In the three month average ending January 2012, 11.4 million mobile users owned an iPad in EU5, nearly doubling its 6.5 million audience from February 2011. A breakdown of EU5 markets shows the UK as not only being the largest market for iPads among the mobile audience (2.8 million owners), but it was also the fastest growing with 115% increase.
With the announcement of the next iPad on March 7, Apple “looks to expand its iPad audience as overall tablet ownership continues its upward journey,” according to comScore.
