Tension Software has released Data Extractor for Mac OS X 10.7 (“Lion”). The US$40 app lets you extract data from files and export it for later use.
Data is collected in records with custom specified fields inside an internal table. According to the folks at Tension Software, Data Extractor solves the problem that advanced users often face: the necessity to extract data available in text format on one or more files and moving them inside a table or a database in an ordered and structured form with fields and records for archiving and successive processing.
Data Extractor can parse thousands and thousands of file in few seconds. It can collect all the data inside these files using instructions on how to recognize data, how to extract them and where to put these data inside Data Extractor tables, ready to be exported.
Data Extractor is available at the Mac App Store and the product site (http://www.pomola.com/products_dataextractor/). The $40 price is being offered for a limited time.
