The two volumes of the Dictionary of the Old Testament follow the same formula as IVP’s New Testament dictionaries: presenting readers with an accessible summary of current scholarship in the “Pentateuch” (the first five books of the Bible) and the “Historical Books” (Joshua, Judges, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra and Nehemiah).
