Route1 (www.route1.com), a digital security and identity management company, has introduced the US$95 MobiKEY Classic 2 (MC2), a tool for Mac OS X users who require security when accessing data remotely.
The MC2 is a smartcard embedded device that allows subscribers to remotely access their office computer, network and other digital resources from anywhere at any time. The first security tool ever made available for private enterprise that is configured for Mac OS X (and Windows), it doesn’t require any pre-installed software to work on a guest computer or other remote device, according to Route1 CEO Tony Busseri, CEO.
It’s completely clientless and driverless. Pocket sized the MobiKEY employs an identity-based access system that lets employees work from anywhere at any time – without compromising electronic security, Busseri adds.
