Consumer electronics trade-in service Gazelle (www.gazelle.com) is seeing an 80% increase in iPads in the last month as owners are prepare for the rumored iMac, reports “VentureBeats” (http://macte.ch/2gsF4).

“People are definitely interested in a mid-sized tablet from Apple,” Gazelle’s Anthony Scarsella told the publication’s John Koetsier. “Trade-ins doubled on the 16th of last month, and volumes have stayed high since.

He also said that half of the Apple tablets the company has received in the last month were original 16GB WiFI models. Gazelle pays about US$130 for those models, ranging up to $500 for 64GB iPad3 versions.
