NewerTech’s next-generation Power2U AC/USB Wall Outlet is a fine tool for eliminating the need for power adapters. It features NEC tamper-resistant receptacles and is available in a new 20 Amp model for residential and commercial, hospitality, education and municipal applications

Newer Technology introduced the original Power2U at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show as the first patented and UL-Listed device to seamlessly blend into any wall as a standard power outlet. The next gen version debuted at the 2013 CES in January.

Users can access two traditional three-prong AC wall sockets in addition to two USB 3.0/2.0/1.1 ports without encountering “plug barriers” found on similar devices that can prevent multiple devices from being charged/powered simultaneously. Available in four decorator colors, the Power2U is a basic “DIY” install in a 16-cubic-inch electrical box. A video showing how the Power2U can be installed in as little as 20 minutes is available at http://tinyurl.com/byzljv6 .

While the new 15 Amp and 20 Amp outlet models feature NEC tamper-resistant receptacles, the Power2U retains its main consumer appeal of offering a clean looking, modern, centralized location for charging/powering USB devices. It continues to provide two energy efficiency features.

The intelligent Smart Power design only outputs enough charging power to meet the requirements of the device that’s attached. The specially designed spring-loaded Safety Shutters completely turn off power to the USB ports when a connecting cable is removed to prevent “vampire draw.”

The Power2U’s patented design prevents “plug barriers” to enable charging/powering up to four iPads, iPhones, iPods, Android tablets and phones, MP3 players, GPS, digital cameras, and other USB 3.0/2.0/1.1 devices simultaneously without requiring a bulky adapter. It’s priced at US$29.95 for the 15 Amp model and $39.95 for the 20 Amp model.

The original Power2U 15 Amp model is available for as low as $14.99 and $11.50 when two our more units are purchased. For more info go to http://tinyurl.com/7wlyfzu .
