Egger Apps is now offering a free trial of MDB ACCDB Viewer, which the company says has helped 13,000 Mac users reclaim the data stored in Microsoft Access databases.
Previously, MDB ACCDB Viewer was exclusively available as a paid application on the Mac App Store. In addition to the free trial, customers now have the option of purchasing the app outside the Mac App Store.
What is MDB ACCDB Viewer? Access databases (ACCDB and MDB files) are ubiquitous in the Windows world. They’re used for everything, ranging from personal expenses to medical databases to genealogy research. Novice Mac users are often taken by surprise when they learn that they can no longer access their data after switching to the Mac. MDB ACCDB Viewer allows them to view databases on the Mac, and to export the data for other applications such as Filemaker or Bento.
MDB ACCDB Viewer 2.2.2 includes bug fixes and adds support for exporting to the newer XML based Excel format. It requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or higher. MDB ACCDB Viewer 2.2.1 costs US$19 and is available for purchase directly from Egger Apps (http://eggerapps.at).
