Ecamm (http://www.ecamm.com) has released Printopia Pro, a redesign of Printopia, a Mac app that lets you share your Mac’s printers with any “capable” iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. It will also add a virtual printer, allowing you to save print-outs to your Mac as PDF files.
Printopia Pro adds: the ability to print across subnets; centralized access control and directory integration; remote management, and scalability (one server running Printopia Pro can often handle an entire company). And it offers the ability to print to any printer the Mac can print to — providing AirPrint capability even if a printer doesn’t natively support it, and whether it’s attached via the network, USB, or even on a Windows print server.
Printopia Pro requires Mac OS X 10.7 or higher. It costs US$79.99 for a “team” version (up to five printers, Web folders), $249 for an “office” model (up to 20 printers wide area printing, Web folders), and $499 for the “enterprise” edition (unlimited printers, wide area printing, Web folders).
