Users of Apple’s former MobileMe service who move to iCloud, Apple’s new service, will see, as Apple warned, a downgrade in storage.
Apple is no longer offering 20GB of storage as it did with MobileMe. iCloud only provides 5GB for free. The company does offer extra storage plans: an additional 10GB of storage for US$20/year, 20GB for $40/year, or 50GB for $100/year.
If you’re currently over the free 5GB limit, such features as iCloud Backup, Documents in the Cloud, and iCloud Mail will quit working until you bring your account under the 5GB limit.
