tSoniq has released version 2.0 of its Mac OS X-based Firmware Update Toolkit for USB peripherals, adding full support for OS 10.9 Mavericks and further Bluetooth chipset compatibility.
The toolkit supports all Device Firmware Update (DFU) compliant USB peripherals and adds extensions for Bluetooth based hardware that can be difficult to support under Mac OS X due to driver conflicts, according to tSoniq founder Mark Moore.
He adds that the new release expands on the successful development of the original DFU tools, which are now field proven with substantial third-party product deployments, including design wins for more than six Bluetooth headset applications. The toolkit supports all USB DFU 1.0 and 1.1 compliant devices and is compatible with products based on popular Bluetooth chipsets such as Cambridge Silicon Radio’s BlueCore 5 and CSR8670.
The USB Firmware Update Toolkit is a complete solution for Mac OS hosted firmware update applications, including drivers, in-application installer, SDK and complete sample application source code. Version 2.0 release supports all Apple Mac OS X releases from 10.6 (Snow Leopard) through to 10.9 (Mavericks) and provides compatibility with all Intel-based Apple Macintosh computers, including systems with 32-bit kernels.
