Epson (www.epson.com) has announced its new WorkForce business printing solutions featuring 11 models powered by PrecisionCore, the company’s next generation printing technology. Prices range from US$149.99.
These WorkForce models produce print-shop quality color prints, laser-sharp black and color text, and fast print speeds at up to half the printing cost of color laser for a range of business environments, says Nils Madden, marketing director, Desktop Imaging and Printing, Epson America. The new line of printers includes the WorkForce series for SOHO users; WorkForce Pro printers for SMBs and workgroups; and WorkForce wide format for larger paper and scanning sizes typically used by architects, engineers and designers.
Madden says that all WorkForce printers offer several advantages over color laser, such as true-to-life color for consistent tones and colors on all paper types – plain, matte and glossy, as well as faster first page out speed with no warm-up time and without incurring the high cost of supplies inherent with color lasers.
The process by which PrecisionCore print chips increase print speeds is two-fold. The print chips are comprised of a higher number of nozzles in a more condensed area, resulting in more ink flow. Because the print chips are scalable, they can be combined to deliver more ink and boost print speed. The printers are available in two-chip and four-chip configurations, and offer up faster color print speed over previous models.
All WorkForce models are equipped with Ethernet, wireless, and Wi-Fi Direct functionality, offer printing from mobile devices across a range of operating systems as well as through Epson Connect; automatic two-sided print, copy, scan and fax functionality; and intuitive color touchscreen control panels.
