Addonics Technologies (www.addonics.com) today announced the 6G 4-port eSATA controller, a high performance host adapter that provides total throughput of up to 20 Gbps (20,000 Mbps) via single PCIe 4-lane slot.
The Addonics’ controller supports any SATA hard drive, SSDs or optical drive. All drives appear as individual drives and can be configured to form a RAID group using the RAID utility of the operating system. By attaching four high performance SSDs, a high performance, large capacity storage system can be created by stripping the four drives using the OS RAID utility.
The US$169 plug and play product is compatible with HDD, SSD, Optical Drives and Blu-Ray Drives. It can be installed into the PCI-Express 4 lanes slot (also fits into PCI-Express 8/16 Lane or the graphic card slot). It will fit just about any computing system with a standard full height slot. The controller is compatible with Mac OS X, Windows, Linux or any operating system with a built-in AHCI driver.
