Apple CEO Tim Cook is among several CEOs slated to meet with Norendra Modi, Indian’s prime minister, when the PM visits the U.S. later this month, reports The Economic Times (http://tinyurl.com/p6rxnu2).

An Apple spokesperson confirmed that a meeting between its Cook and Modi will take place. However, the spokesperson declined to comment on topics of discussion.

The prime minister will be keen to showcase initiatives such as “Make in India” and “Digital India” and persuade the maker of iPhones and iPads to invest in manufacturing and research & development (R&D) in India, says The Economic Times. For its part, Apple has “become increasingly conscious of India’s importance as a market,” the article adds.
