IOSPIRIT has introduced the Remote Buddy Display (https://www.iospirit.com/products/remotebuddy/display/) for the new Apple TV. It costs US$24.99 and is a companion to the free Remote Buddy app for tvOS that brings your Mac apps onto the new Apple set-top box’s screen through screen sharing .

It also turns the Siri Remote into a trackpad, keyboard and remote for use with your Mac. You can pick from Remote Buddy’s library of app-specific actions, launch, switch, and quit apps right from your Apple TV.

According to the folks at IOSPIRIT, the screen sharing engine delivers up to 60 frames per second at a latency of just around 0.1 seconds. In Trackpad mode, you can move the mouse cursor, click and scroll. Integration with Remote Buddy’s Mousespot allows highlighting parts of f.ex. a Keynote or PowerPoint presentation. It also helps you find the mouse pointer on screen.

In Keyboard mode, an on-screen keyboard is available to perform text input. In Remote mode, 100-plusMac apps can be controlled with gestures and button presses.
