The two high-end “Pro” models of the upcoming iPhone 13 lineup will sport a low temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO display, enabling the Apple smartphones to have a 120Hz refresh rate and always-on display, according to DigiTimes (a subscription is required to read the entire report).
The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) thinks there’s a 100% chance that this will happen as 120Hz iPhones have been anticipated for some time. Some other rumors about the upcoming iPhones, expected to launch in September or October:
° All models will feature a smaller notch.
° They’ll have improved camera capabilities for astrophotography, stronger MagSafe magnets, and a finer matte finish on the back
° They could include a 1TB storage option for some models and LiDAR Scanners across the entire lineup.
° They’ll sport the the same wide-angle lens as the current iPhone 12 series, offering no tangible improvements to one of the three lenses on the upcoming smartphone.
DigiTimes also says that Apple is expected to increase shipments of mmWave enabled iPhones this year thanks to the increased demand and improved global support for the newer technology. Currently, the company only offers mmWave-enabled iPhone 12 models in the U.S.
