Apple’s (virtual) Worldwide Developer Conference kicks off today with an Apple Keynote at 10 a.m. (Pacific). Naturally, we’ll be covering it here at Apple World Today. However, there are various ways to watch the keynote live.
The keynote will be available via apple.com, the Apple Developer app, the Apple TV app, and YouTube. On-demand playback will be available after the conclusion of the stream.
What to expect during the keynote
During the keynote, the one thing you can count on is Apple execs previewing the next versions of macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and tvOS. After that, it’s anyone’s guess what will be unveiled.
Then there’s a Spatial Audio event
Immediately after the keynote, Apple has teased a “special event” at 12 p.m. It will apparently focus on Apple’s Spatial Audio plans. On May 17, the tech giant said Apple Music is bringing “industry-leading sound quality” to subscribers with the addition of Spatial Audio with support for Dolby Atmos.
Spatial Audio with support for Dolby Atmos and Lossless Audio will be available to Apple Music subscribers at no additional cost. The company says Spatial Audio gives artists the opportunity to create immersive audio experiences for their fans with true multidimensional sound and clarity. Look for details today.
Then there’s the ‘Platforms State of the Union’
Moving on, the “Platforms State of the Union” will be delivered at 2 p.m. (Pacific). It will offer “a deeper dive into the new tools, technologies, and advances across Apple platforms that will help Apple developers create even better apps.” Platforms State of the Union will stream via the Apple Developer app and the Apple Developer website.
Finally, there are the Apple Design Awards
Finally, the Apple Design Awards will be held on June 10 at 2 p.m. (Pacific). The awards will stream via the Apple Developer app and the Apple Developer website.
