Apple CEO Tim Cook announced via Twitter that the tech company would support the people of Haiti after the country suffered a 7.2-magnitude earthquake on Aug. 14, reports Tech Times.
“Our hearts are with all those in Haiti who are once again facing the consequences of a devastating earthquake,” he tweeted. “Apple will be donating to assist relief and recovery efforts in the affected communities.”
According to Sky News, at least 304 people have died following the earthquake in western Haiti, officials say, as the prime minister declared a one-month state of emergency.
The quake struck 8km (five miles) from the town of Petit Trou de Nippes, about 150km (93 miles) west of the capital Port-au-Prince, at a depth of 10km, the US Geological Survey said. Haitian authorities say at least 1,800 people have been injured.
