Coloriage 7 offers Snow Leopard support

Akvis Software (http://www.akvis.com) has updated Akvis Coloriage, its tool for coloring black-and-white photos, to version 7.0. Among other things it offers support for Mac OS X 10.6 (“Snow Leopard”) and Windows 7.

The update also introduces a new mode for the Pencil tool, Multicolor mode, as well as other improvements. Akvis Coloriage is available for Mac and Windows as a Photoshop plug-in and in a stand-alone edition.

Expo to offer largest ‘face-to-face viewing’ of iPhone, iPod touch apps

Macworld 2010 will purportedly host the largest face-to-face viewing of applications for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch devices, IDG World Expo, owner of Macworld 2010, has announced.

Attendees at Macworld 2010 will be able to test-drive over 100 of the hottest apps and connect directly with the app developers at the Mobile Application Showcase, featuring companies such as TomTom, Tap 11, Bing, BeeJive, Square and many more. Additionally, both attendees and developers will be able to learn about developing and marketing their own apps at a series of iPhone-dedicated training sessions.

Macsimum Poll: should the Apple tablet have a different name?

There are complaints over the name of the upcoming Apple tablet device. So in this week’s poll, we’re asking if you think “iPad” is a good name for the gadget. The poll is located on the right hand side of the home page beneath the Macsimum Opinion column.

In last week’s poll, we asked if you planned to buy an iPad. Sixty-two percent of you said “yes,” 19% said “no” and 19% haven’t decided.
