Top Stories: iOS 18.3 Released, AirPods News, and More January has come to a close, with Apple pushing out iOS 18.3 and related software updates in the final week of the month to deliver some refinements for Apple Intelligence, security fixes, and more.
We're looking ahead to more substantial updates with iOS 18.4, while we also shared news and rumors about AirPods and the upcoming "iPhone 17 Air," so read on below for all the details!
iOS 18.3 Features: Everything New in iOS 18.3
After more than a month of beta testing, Apple this week released iOS 18.3 and related operating system updates across its lineup to the public.
Apple's January operating system updates tend to be on the lighter side and these are no exception, although iOS 18.3 brings some improvements to visual intelligence for iPhone 16 models and some tweaks for notification summaries to help address issues with occasional inaccuracies. There are also a number of security fixes, so be sure to update your devices.
Apple Finally Explains How to Install New Firmware on Your AirPods
While Apple occasionally releases firmware updates for AirPods, the company has never been publicly explicit about how to ensure your earphones get the new firmware installed, until now.
In an updated support document, Apple has added more specific step-by-step instructions about updating. While the steps were generally known, Apple has removed ambiguity from the process by noting that the AirPods case should plugged in and users should wait at least 30 minutes for the firmware to update.
When Will Apple Release the iOS 18.4 Beta?
With iOS 18.3 out the door, attention will soon turn to iOS 18.4, which is expected to be a more substantial upgrade, particularly when it comes to Apple Intelligence.
While the initial beta of an iOS update frequently arrives within just a few days after the public release of the previous version, the gaps can sometimes be as long as several weeks. We haven't yet seen the first beta of iOS 18.4, and given the substantial Apple Intelligence updates coming in the update, it's possible we may have to wait a bit longer than usual for Apple to begin pushing it out for testing.
Save 7GB Storage Per Device by Disabling Apple Intelligence
Apple this week released iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, and macOS Sequoia 15.3, software updates that enable Apple Intelligence on supported devices by default.
Whether you own an iPhone, iPad, Mac – or indeed all three – regardless of what you think about Apple Intelligence, there's one reason why you may want to disable Apple's AI features at the earliest opportunity: To reclaim storage.
Check out our how-to for full details on how to turn off Apple Intelligence and what you'll miss out on by doing so.
Apple Still 'Exploring' New AirPods With Tiny Cameras
Apple has been rumored to be trying to embed tiny cameras in future AirPods models, and the company is still "exploring" the idea, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
The function of these potential cameras isn't entirely known, though analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has said these would be infrared cameras that could enhance the spatial audio experience and could potentially support "in-air gesture control."
In other product rumor news, Gurman says Apple remains on track to launch its smart home hub with 7-inch display at some point in 2025, calling it "Apple's most significant release of the year."
iPhone 17 Air Design, Specs, and More: All the Rumors So Far
This year, Apple is expected to discontinue the iPhone "Plus" device in its iPhone 17 lineup to make way for an iPhone "Air," so-called because of its thin profile.
There have been numerous rumors about what to expect from this all-new device, so we've put together a compilation of every rumor and leak we have registered from reputable sources thus far about Apple's new entry in its flagship smartphone lineup.

US SMS Carrier Maintenance – Small US Carriers THIS IS A SCHEDULED EVENT Feb 6, 20:30 PST - Feb 7, 01:30 PSTJan 31, 18:32 PSTScheduled - A subset of small networks in the US are conducting an emergency maintenance from 06 February 2025 at 20:30 PST until 07 February 2025 at 01:30 PST. SK3DNode shows SCNScene darker than in SCNView Before I am going mad I'd like to ask here about the following issue.
I wrote an iOS test app in SwiftUI that shows a SpriteView and a SceneView. The SpriteView shows (among other things) two SK3DNode nodes that display one and the same SCNScene from different camera positions. The SceneView renders the very same SCNScene.
The problem is that the rendered scene in both SK3DNode's are shown darker than in SceneView.
The scenes in SpriteKit are unusable because they are too dark.
This is a screenshot from the iPad simulator:
I expected both SK3DNode's (at the top half) to render the scene at the same brightness as the SceneView (bottom half).
If I simply increase the ambient light, objects are shown way too bright.
I thought the problem is the texture or the material, but the problem also occurs with colours. Hence the red/green/blue shapes.
I have disabled SK3DNode's built-in lighting by setting autoenablesDefaultLighting to false. Somehow SceneView (or its internal SCNView) must add its own lighting but I cannot figure how. The scene's rootNode only shows my nodes from the .scn file.
I've disabled the environment in the scene file so there is no sky cube. There is one ambient light source, one spot light, and one omni light. No matter which lights I am using, both SK3DNode's still present the scene much darker than the SceneView.
Here is the function that creates the two SK3DNodes:
func make3DNode(camPos: SCNVector3) - > SK3DNode {
// Add SceneKit scene in 3D node
let node3d = SK3DNode(viewportSize: CGSize(width: 300, height: 200))
node3d.scnScene = scnScene
node3d.autoenablesDefaultLighting = false
let camera = SCNCamera()
let cameraNode = SCNNode()
cameraNode.camera = camera
if let lookAtTarget = scnScene.rootNode.childNode(withName: "red_texture", recursively: false) {
let constraint = SCNLookAtConstraint(target: lookAtTarget)
// why does this not work?
cameraNode.constraints = [constraint]
}
cameraNode.position = camPos
node3d.pointOfView = cameraNode
return node3d
}
On a side note: the camera lookAt constraint does not seem to work either.
Code to add the nodes to the scene:
// Add SceneKit nodes
let node3d_1 = make3DNode(camPos: SCNVector3(x: -5, y: -2, z: 14))
node3d_1.name = "3d_1"
node3d_1.position = CGPoint(x: 150, y: 110)
spriteScene.addChild(node3d_1)
let node3d_2 = make3DNode(camPos: SCNVector3(x: 5, y: 2, z: 14))
node3d_2.name = "3d_2"
node3d_2.position = CGPoint(x: 150, y: -110)
spriteScene.addChild(node3d_2)
Full project source: https://github.com/biochill/test-spritekit
It includes both the SpriteKit scene file and the SceneKit file. The SK3DNodes are added programmatically. I can't paste code for the scenes because I have created scene files both for SpriteKit and SceneKit. Best if you download the GitHub project and hit Cmd+R in Xcode for some iPad simulator.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Apple reportedly ends its Mac-connected Augmented Reality glasses project Macworld
A report from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg claims that Apple is shuttering one of its more advanced projects: a set of Augmented Reality glasses that connect to other Apple devices.
It’s an inside-baseball look at some of the product decisions that happen at Apple, but while often rumored, these AR glasses have never been officially announced.
The glasses were seen within Apple as a natural evolution beyond Vision Pro. Vision Pro was always going to be a niche device, not only because of its sky-high price ($3,500 U.S.) but its cumbersome nature. Even among VR headsets it is heavy and requires a tether to a battery pack.
The AR glasses would resemble normal glasses and let users look through lenses in the real world, but contain integrated displays that superimpose rendered graphics on them. Code-named N107, Apple wanted this device to be lighter and more affordable by having them tethered to your iPhone, which would do the bulk of the processing work.
That didn’t really work out, apparently. The iPhones were limited in their processing capability, and using the AR glasses drained the iPhone’s battery too rapidly. So, Apple reportedly switched gears to making them tethered to a Mac, which has beefier processors and bigger batteries.
Recent prototypes were not received well, according to Gurman, and it’s easy to see why. If a Vision Pro is cumbersome with a wire going to a battery pack in your pocket, how could you ever expect users to remain tethered to a MacBook? The Vision Pro needs more portability, not less.
Gurman says the Vision Products Group is still working on a successor to the Vision Pro, including updated versions that resemble the original model. But it’s not clear if there is another true “AR Glasses” project within Apple or if that road is now closed. Apple earlier canceled a project code-named N421, Gurman reports, which were to be AR glasses brought to market about a year after Vision Pro. The team is also still working on several of the underlying technology technologies that would have been used in the glasses.

OpenAI Launches o3-mini, a Cost-Efficient Reasoning Model Rivaling DeepSeek OpenAI today released o3-mini, a new, more cost efficient model that's available for both ChatGPT and the OpenAI API starting today. OpenAI previewed o3-mini in December, but it is ready at a time when OpenAI is aiming to keep up with Chinese company DeepSeek.
According to OpenAI, o3-mini "advances the boundaries" of what's possible with smaller, more efficient models. o3-mini is designed for STEM capabilities, and OpenAI says that it has particular strength in science, math, and coding. o3-mini is search capable, and it can locate up-to-date answers with links to relevant web sources.
o3-mini is OpenAI's first small reasoning model that supports features like function calling, Structured Outputs, and deeloper messages. There are three reasoning effort options, including low, medium, and high, to optimize for different use cases that prioritize processing power for complex challenges or speed.
OpenAI is keeping o1 as its standard general knowledge reasoning model, but o3-mini is available for technical domains that require precision and speed. When used with ChatGPT, o3-mini uses medium reasoning effort for a balance between speed and accuracy, but o3-mini high is an option in the model picker.
ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Pro users are able to use o3-mini starting today, and it will replace o1-mini in the model picker. The rate limit for Plus and Team users is now 150 messages per day, up from 50.
o3-mini is the first reasoning model that OpenAI is making available to free users. Those with the free plan can try o3-mini by selecting the "Reason" option in the message composer.Tags: ChatGPT, OpenAIThis article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

Apple Scraps Work on Mac-Connected Augmented Reality Glasses Apple has canceled a project to build advanced augmented reality glasses that would pair with its devices, Bloomberg reported Friday, marking the latest setback in its effort to create a headset that appeals to typical consumers. From the report: The company shuttered the program this week, according to people with knowledge of the move. The now-canceled product would have looked like normal glasses but include built-in displays and require a connection to a Mac, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the work wasn't public.
The project had been seen as a potential way forward after the weak introduction of the Apple Vision Pro, a $3,499 model that was too cumbersome and pricey to catch on with consumers. The hope was to produce something that everyday users could embrace, but finding the right technology -- at the right cost -- has proven to be a challenge.

Apple reported to have killed the project to create Mac-connected AR glasses According to a new leak, Apple has pulled the plug on a project that allegedly hoped to produce lower-cost augmented reality glasses after the project seemingly couldn't meet executive expectations."Apple Glass" render by iPhone_lov_er on InstagramThe device in question would have looked like a standard pair of glasses, but would feature built-in displays. It also would have required a persistent tether to a Mac.This device, which was code-named N107, would have been seen as a more affordable alternative to the Apple Vision Pro. After all, one of the biggest complaints about the Apple Vision Pro is its nearly $3,500 price tag — before taxes. Continue Reading on AppleInsider | Discuss on our Forums

Apple Cancels Mac-Connected AR Smart Glasses Apple is no longer developing augmented reality glasses designed to pair with the Mac, reports Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Apple wanted to create smart glasses that looked like regular glasses, but had augmented reality capabilities.
Apple was developing AR glasses that connect to a Mac for power, because a chip powerful enough for AR applications would not fit in a device that's the size of standard glasses. Apple engineers determined that the AR glasses would need to provide the performance of an iPhone with a tenth of the power consumption, otherwise the chip would simply run too hot. Adding a battery to the glasses would also be problematic because of the weight.
At first, Apple wanted the glasses to connect to the iPhone, but the iPhone didn't have the power or battery life to support them. Apple then transitioned to using the Mac as a power source, but Apple executives weren't convinced a Mac-connected device was a good solution, leading to the shutdown of the project.
The AR glasses that Apple worked on were lighter than the Vision Pro and did not require a head strap, nor was there a front-facing screen showing the wearer's eyes. Apple reportedly created lenses that could change tint based on what the wearer was doing, such as doing work, as a signal to people around them.
There have been rumors about Apple's work on AR glasses for almost 10 years now, and the Vision Pro headset is what Apple built because the technology doesn't yet exist for the kind of augmented reality glasses that Apple is aiming for.
Back in 2023, Gurman said that the AR glasses were a running joke on the AR/VR team because it was a "hopeless" device they worked on to keep Apple CEO Tim Cook happy. Back in 2017, Cook himself said that the technology to make AR smart glasses "in a quality way" simply didn't exist, and it appears that's still the case.
While Apple's work on augmented reality glasses has been paused, the company is still developing new versions of the Vision Pro, and when the technology exists, Apple executives want to revisit the possibility of a set of AR glasses.
Apple's smart glasses featured projectors able to display information like images and video to the wearer, and Apple is continuing to work on custom microLED displays that could one day be used in AR glasses.
Apple competitor Meta has already demonstrated its "Orion" augmented reality glasses that are in development, but the glasses are in a prototyping stage and cost over $10,000 to make. Meta is aiming to release the glasses by 2027, which is also when Apple was originally planning to debut its now-canceled smart glasses.Related Roundup: Apple Vision ProTag: Apple GlassesBuyer's Guide: Vision Pro (Buy Now)Related Forum: Apple Vision ProThis article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

Apple Wants to Help Google Defend Search Engine Deal Worth Billions Apple wants to defend its multi-billion dollar search engine deal with Google, which is in danger because Google has been found guilty of violating antitrust law. Apple has asked the court handling Google's lawsuit with the U.S. government for an emergency stay [PDF], so that Apple has time to intervene and plead its case before a remedy is decided on.
The U.S. Department of Justice sued Google for anti-competitve behavior in the search market way back in 2020, and after a lengthy legal battle, the DoJ won. A main component of the lawsuit was Google's deal with Apple, which sees Google pay billions annually to be the default search engine for Safari. The court decided that the agreement between Apple and Google violated antitrust law, and is a major reason Google has been able to maintain its search engine monopoly.
The U.S. government asked the court to bar Google from entering into contracts with Apple, among other restrictions, and that will cost Apple a lot of money. In 2022, for example, Google paid Apple $20 billion. Apple already asked the court to allow it to be more involved in the case as remedies are decided on, and the court denied the request due to timing. Apple appealed the decision, and is asking for a stay while the appeal plays out.
Apple says that because its deal with Google is at stake, it deserves a right to participate, and without a stay, it will "suffer clear and substantial irreparable harm."
Apple will be unable to participate in discovery and develop evidence in the targeted fashion it has proposed as this litigation progresses toward a final judgment. If Apple's appeal is not resolved until during or after the remedies trial, Apple may well be forced to stand mute at trial, as a mere spectator, while the government pursues an extreme remedy that targets Apple by name and would prohibit any commercial arrangement between Apple and Google for a decade.
In addition to prohibiting deals between Apple and Google, the U.S. Department of Justice also has more extreme remedies in mind, including forcing Google to sell its Chrome browser and uncoupling Android from other products like Google Search and the Google Play Store. Google has a lot to defend against, and will prioritize Chrome over its deal with Apple.
When initially asking to take a larger role in the case, Apple said that Google "can no longer adequately represent Apple's interests" because of the wide scope of the case. Unsurprisingly, the DoJ does not want Apple involved in the remedies portion of the trial, which is set to start in April.
If the court decides that Google can't pay Apple to be the default search engine on Safari, Apple would still have to offer Google Search as an option in some capacity, but would not be able to continue to collect money for doing so.Tags: Apple Antitrust, Chrome, Google, SafariThis article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

Apple shares a secret MacBook tip that power users will love Macworld
Apple M-series MacBooks turn on automatically when you open the laptop or plug in the power adapter. It sort of makes sense, right? If you’re opening your MacBook, you’re probably going to use it, so it should turn on. (As for plugging it in, I’m unsure what the thinking is by Apple to have the MacBook automatically turn on.)
However, what if you want to be able to open it or plug it in without it turning on? With macOS Sequoia, you can now adjust your MacBook so it does not turn on when you open it or plug in the adapter.
To change this setting, you need to enter commands through the Terminal app, which is located in Applications > Utilities. After launching Terminal, enter one of these commands:
If you want to open the MacBook or connect to power with the laptop turning on type the following: sudo nvram BootPreference=%00
To stop the MacBook from turning on only when opening it, type the following: sudo nvram BootPreference=%01
To stop the MacBook from turning on when only connecting to power, type the following: sudo nvram BootPreference=%02
After typing the command, press the Return key. You’ll need to enter your password; when you do, you will not see it being typed on the screen. Press Return, and you’re set.
If you want to reset the feature and want to have your MacBook turn on when you open it or plug it in, launch Terminal and enter sudo nvram -d BootPreference and then press the Return key. Your Mac will then return to the default function of turning on when you open the lid.
For more on using your MacBook with an external display, here’s how to stop your MacBook from sleeping when the lid is closed.
Apple hits back at judge with demand for Google search dominance trial delay Having been denied full inclusion at the forthcoming trial to determine Google's future, Apple has filed a motion to delay the whole proceedings.In 2022, Alphabet paid Apple $20 billionIt was formally and legally decided in August 2024 that Google and its Alphabet parent company, represent a search and advertising monopoly. What Apple wants and has previously been denied, is a seat at a trial determining what steps Google must take next.Apple had asked to be a participant in this remedy trial specifically because of its annual $20 billion contract with Google. But it asked by filing a motion on December 23, 2024, and Judge Amit Metha has ruled Apple's motion was simply too late. Continue Reading on AppleInsider | Discuss on our Forums
Forget the Studio Display and get this 27-inch 4K Alogic Clarity for half the price Macworld
We love the Apple’s Studio Display, but it’s way too expensive. But, if you want a great alternative that won’t cost you nearly as much. The Alogic Clarity 4K monitor is 20% off, so you can get it for $800 right now.
This is a 27-inch IPS monitor with a solid 4K resolution that looks gorgeous. That, of course, is important because if you’re going to bring a monitor into your Apple-friendly home, it needs to be at least as stylish as the Studio Display is. We reviewed the Alogic Clarity monitor and were impressed enough to give it a 4.5-star rating and our Editors’ Choice award. “It will appeal to Mac users with its Apple looks and is even, in some ways, a superior monitor to Apple’s own Studio Display, although its 4K resolution isn’t quite as sharp as Apple’s 5K screen,” we wrote.
This monitor excels at color accuracy, brightness, and 3000:1 contrast levels. The fact that it also has a built-in webcam makes this a one-stop shop for everyone who sometimes needs to join FaceTime or Zoom calls, and there’s also a super handy hub you can use that features HDMI, DisplayPort, and various USB-A ports. Furthermore, you can adjust the monitor’s height, tilt it, and swivel it however you see fit—features that vost hundreds more on the standard Studio Display.
So rather than paying $1,600 or more on the Apple Studio Display, save a bundle and get one of these Clarity Pro 27″ monitors for $800 over at Alogic instead..

The fourth-generation iPhone SE is widely rumored to feature an iPhone 14-style all-screen design with a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, and USB-C. Images of dummy models showcasing the new design were recently shared online.
Recent reports suggest that the fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to support Apple Intelligence thanks to the A18 chip and 8GB of memory. Both the main and front-facing cameras are expected to receive major upgrades to 48- and 12-megapixel sensors, respectively. Contrary to earlier rumors, the device is no longer expected to feature the Camera Control, Action Button, or Dynamic Island.
The fourth-generation iPhone SE is highly likely to be the first to feature Apple's custom 5G modem. While it won't feature mmWave connectivity and may be slower than the Qualcomm components currently used in iPhones, it is expected to offer lower power consumption, improved cellular network scanning, and satellite connectivity enhancements.
The iPhone SE 4 is due to be released before iOS 18.4, sometime around March or April. It is expected to be slightly more expensive than the current model with a price point of about $470.
We also look ahead to the Apple Watch SE 3, which is expected to debut later this year. With an all-new plastic casing that evokes the iPhone 5C, we reflect on the direction of Apple's entry-level devices. Generate Images in iPhone's Messages App Using DALL·E With iOS 18.2, Apple introduced ChatGPT integration with Apple Intelligence to expand the range of AI capabilities accessible to users on supported iPhone models. One skill in particular that you may not be aware of is the ability to generate images in the Messages app, ready for sharing. ChatGPT leverages DALL·E to generate the images, and the results are almost invariably better than Apple's Image Playground. Keep reading to learn how it's done.
Set Up ChatGPT on Your iPhone
If you have Apple Intelligence enabled on an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16, setting up ChatGPT integration requires just a few steps, and you can begin without even having a ChatGPT account. You can always start with the basic setup and upgrade to a connected account later if needed, although in our tests there isn't too much difference between them when used within the context of daily iPhone usage.
Open Settings.
Tap Apple Intelligence & Siri.
Under "Extensions," tap ChatGPT.
Toggle on the switch next to Use ChatGPT.
If you have a ChatGPT account (free or paid), you can optionally Sign In from this last screen using your account credentials.
Generate Images in Messages
When ChatGPT integration is enabled, whenever you invoke Siri, the voice assistant analyzes your request to see if it's something that needs to be answered by ChatGPT. However, you can specify that you want to use ChatGPT simply by starting a Siri query with "ChatGPT."
So the next time you're in a Messages conversation and want to express something with an image, tap inside the input field, hold down the Side button on your device to rouse Siri, then say something like, "ChatGPT, generate an image of a cat reading a book about fish." Give it a few seconds to think, and ChatGPT will drop the image into the text field, ready for it to be shared in the conversation.
If you're happy with the output, just tap the Send button to send it on its way. If the image doesn't turn out quite how you hoped, you have a few options. You can tap Rewrite, and ChatGPT will re-generate from scratch a new image based on your prompt.
Alternatively, you can tap one of the provided suggestions from ChatGPT to add specific details to the image, or you can tap Refine with ChatGPT and type your own description for more exact detail requests. Simply hit the colored arrow button to send the prompt to ChatGPT, and it will work its magic.
As you can see, the combination of Siri and ChatGPT easily enhances the voice assistant's capabilities compared to what most iPhone users will be used to. The integration works well even for complex queries involving problem solving, writing assistance, detailed explanations, and step-by-step instructions. For everything you can do with ChatGPT in iOS 18.2 and later, be sure to check out our dedicated guide.Tags: ChatGPT, MessagesThis article, "" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

If you owned an early-gen Apple Watch, you could be getting $50 Macworld
Anyone who owned one of the first few generations of Apple Watch has probably long forgotten about them by now, but here’s a reason to think of them again—Apple might owe you some money.
Apple has agreed to a $20 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit that alleges first-generation Series 1, Series 2, and Series 3 Apple Watches “experienced certain issues allegedly related to battery swell.” The plaintiffs claimed the battery could affect other parts of the watch, including the display.
As is usually the case with settlements, Apple denies any wrongdoing, disputes the claim that Apple Watch batteries were faulty, and “asserts numerous defenses to the claims in this case.” In a statement to CNET, Apple assured its watches are “safe and reliable,” including the models in the suit. “While we strongly disagree with the claims made against these early generation Apple Watch models, we agreed to settle to avoid further litigation.”
Members of the settlement class will receive $20 per watch up to a maximum of $50. However, the suit notes that “if necessary, a pro-rata portion of the Net Settlement Fund less than $20.” That means if lots of people opt in, the payments will be divided accordingly and could decrease.
Members of the class should receive a notice with a Notice ID and Confirmation Code to confirm or update payment information anytime before April 10 online through the Payment Selection tab at the Watch Settlement site. If you don’t receive a notice and are unsure whether you are included in the settlement, you can call 844-933-4042 for more information.

Tim Cook hints new iPhone roadmap shows ‘a lot of innovation’ coming The basic design of the iPhone hasn’t changed much in the last few years. New models get better annually, but the average person probably wouldn’t use the word ‘innovation’ to describe Apple’s recent upgrades. According to Tim Cook though, the iPhone roadmap looks especially exciting and there’s ‘a lot of innovation’ ahead.

Apple Battles For Role in Google Antitrust Trial, Warning of Serious Risks Apple has filed an emergency motion [PDF] for a stay in the Google antitrust trial, warning that it faces "clear and substantial irreparable harm" if barred from participating in the case's remedies phase. The motion, filed on January 30, 2025, comes after Judge Amit Mehta denied Apple's request for limited intervention earlier in the week.
Apple -- which makes more than $20 billion a year from Google to use the Android-maker's search engine on Safari -- argues that the U.S. Department of Justice's (DOJ) proposed remedy -- which includes a prohibition on "any contract between Google and Apple in which there would be anything exchanged of value" --would prevent it from negotiating agreements that benefit millions of users. Without the ability to fully participate, Apple contends it will be left as a "mere spectator" while the government pursues restrictions that directly impact its business interests.
The company asserts that intervention is necessary to develop evidence, participate in discovery, and cross-examine witnesses regarding its market role and incentives. Apple also seeks access to trial records while its appeal is pending, including witness lists, depositions, and discovery materials, to ensure it can respond effectively if granted party status.
