KeyFolio Secure secures your iPad 2 — and lets you type

It’s a wireless keyboard. No, it’s a security anchor. Actually, the Kensington Computer Products Group’s (http://www.kensington.com) KeyFolio Secure is both: an US$129.99 security case for the iPad 2.

It extends Kensington’s KeyFolio family of products by incorporating the ClickSafe one-click locking mechanism and built-in security anchor. The built-in ClickSafe lock can be engaged with a click. Constructed from carbon steel cables with a corrosion-proof steel lockhead, it’s one of the toughest locks for consumer electronic devices I’ve run across.

Ricoh GR Digital IV more of a niche item

By Daniel M. East

The biggest advances in the latest incarnation of Ricoh’s GR series (http://www.ricoh.com), the 10-megapixel Digital IV (US$599), are in speed and usability. With regard to speed, the maximum ISO is now 3,200, and the auto modes include an Auto-Hi option that maintains a selected shutter speed and adjusts the ISO.

Ricoh adds AF Continuous Shooting that performs best in bright daylight. The shooting mode adjustment wheel on the top of the body locks into position, but unlocking the wheel is fluid and simple to do.

Folio Trio Mobile Workstation for the iPad has almost everything

Kensington’s (http://www.kensington.com) US$79.99 Folio Trio Mobile Workstation for the iPad 2 and new iPad isn’t for everyone. However, its target audience should find it indispensable

The Workstation is designed for the mobile professional who packs an iPad as one of his/here business tools, along with a notepad, pen or pencil and business cards. If you just need a protective case for your iPad, the Kensington product is overkill for you.

Vapor Pro Elite is great — if you don’t mind a ‘permanent’ iPhone case

If you’re looking for a sleek, stylish-but-not-gaudy (though expensive) case for your iPhone 4S, the Vapor Pro Elite from Element Case (https://www.elementcase.com) fills the bill. However, you should note that this case isn’t for those who want to be able to attach and remove a case quickly.

The Vapor Pro Elite comes in four different models with pricing ranging from US$169.99 to $179.99. My review unit is the Black/Gold Elite for $169.99.
