Full HD, AirPlay, new interface makes new Apple TV a good buy

I’ve been an Apple TV fan since the second incarnation of the set-top box. And the third gen model (mine arrived Thursday morning) is even better, thanks to an improved interface and, at long last, support for 1080p programming.

Yep, the Apple TV now supports iTunes movies and TV shows, Netflix, Vimeo, photos and more in HD. However, not all content is available in the highest resolution. You should read the fine print at the iTunes Store to make sure that you’re getting a 1080p version and not a 720p version.

Garmin ANT+ Adapter for iPhone will keep you accountable

By ‘Doctor Dave’ Greenbaum

First, the Garmin Fit app for iPhone allows you to track your workouts in real time like many other apps. The real magic comes in with Garmin’s ANT+ Adapter (http://www8.garmin.com/intosports/antplus.html) for iPhone (US$49.95)  which allows you to interact with other fitness devices via a standard similar to Bluetooth.

Tank Case for the iPhone is big, bulky, impractical

When I think of a tank, I think of something that is extremely impractical for everyday use and, in that sense, the Casemate Tank indeed fits the bill: big, bulky and impractical. While it appears to protect your iPhone well, it simply isn’t competitive with other similar products.

Evolphin Zoom is file versioning done right

By David Creamer

Version Cue was a good idea that never took off. It was too hard to use for small agencies and not robust enough for large ones. Evolphin Zoom 2.8 from Evolphin Software (http://www.evolphin.com) fills the gap left by Version Cue’s demise — quite nicely, too. The software is easy to install and set up on either Macintosh or Windows.
