For years, the smart home conversation has revolved around making things easier and more convenient around the home. We’ve focused on products that let us turn on lights with our voice, , or set the control temperature without getting up the couch. As awesome as those things are, I’d like to see a new generation of HomeKit focused on home maintenance. Macworld If you were waiting for the perfect time to get the new iPad Pro, well, it’s now. Apple can be fairly stingy about discounts on its high-end tablets, so seeing the powerful M4 iPad Pro down to a brand new best price right for $849 right now with an auto-applied coupon at checkout is a great reason to go buy one. That’s good for $150 under its MSRP and the best price we’ve ever seen. We gave this iPad a rare, perfect 5-star score, praising the tablet’s performance, good battery life, and first-class display and declaring it “the best tablet you can currently get.” The tablet has a gorgeous 11-inch Ultra Retina XDR display that’s super bright and vibrant. That’s Apple’s equivalent to OLEDs, so you can be sure everything will look absolutely amazing. It’s also incredibly thin and light, so it’s going to be super easy to carry around. Its 256GB of storage is more than enough space for all of your apps and media. And with Apple Intelligence on board, you’ll get access to the smarter Siri coming in iOS 18.4 too. If you add in a Magic Keyboard and an Apple Pencil Pro (on sale for $99), you’ll be very close to turning the tablet into a hybrid laptop. Considering how powerful it is, you’ll be able to work all day just like you would with your MacBook Pro. So don’t miss out on the chance to save $150 on the iPad Pro M4 over at Amazon. Macworld Ah, it’s the weekend, which means you can spend a couple of days binge-watching your favorite shows. (Go outside? Ha!) If you have an Apple TV 4K box, you might find a surprise that makes it easier to access your Netflix account. According to various reports online, Netflix allowed its customers to connect their accounts to the Apple TV app. That means the Netflix shows you’re watching will appear in the Apple TV app’s “Watchlist” section. Earlier this week, some Apple TV 4K owners in the U.S. saw a prompt to connect their Netflix account to the Apple TV app. Now, I said might, because 9to5Mac reports that this option is no longer available. It’s also not clear if the people who were able to connect their Netflix account still had the functionality. The site “someone jumped the gun,” presumably an Apple or Netflix employee, “and this rollout has been cancelled at this time.” Furthermore, Mark Gurman at Bloomberg reports that the integration “is probably some sort of bug.” The Apple TV app on the Apple TV 4K box allows access to several other streaming services, such as Disney+ and Amazon Prime, but not Netflix, meaning you always need to launch the app first. With this integration, the Apple TV app becomes a convenient point of entry so you don’t have the hassle of manually switching between apps. It also makes it easier to find your shows, because, admit it, you can never remember the service that the show you’re binging is streaming. Netflix, however, has been a separate app on the Apple TV 4K, not allowing its content to be accessed through the Apple TV app. Could this false start be a sign of a new partnership that will benefit Apple TV users? We hope so.05:02 pmApple Intelligence launch in China key to ‘long awaited growth catalyst’ – Analyst
