Macworld Earlier this week, Apple released iOS 18.4 beta 2, featuring a new pause/resume button for active downloads in the App Store. That, however, isn’t the only new change brought to the company’s digital storefront. With the latest iOS and iPadOS betas, users can view AI-generated summaries of reviews left by others on App Store listings. As discovered by Macworld, the latest betas of iOS and iPadOS 18.4 bring Apple Intelligence-powered review summaries to the App Store. The feature, initially referenced by an App Store Story last October, is currently rolling out to eligible app and game listings in the US. Some of the criteria include the language being English and the app having a sufficient number of user reviews to generate a fair summary. According to Apple, the feature will support more languages and regions “over the course of the year.” Screenshot Foundry The AI-generated summaries appear just before user reviews on the App Store, highlighting the most common thoughts and themes expressed by users. The processing seemingly takes place in the cloud, as my iPhone and iPad both display identical summaries for the same app listings. As such, it’s not clear whether these summaries will be available to everyone or only devices running Apple Intelligence. Given the unpredictable nature of AI-generated content, Apple has provided both developers and users with the option to report problematic review summaries. Apple will then presumably regenerate or hide them altogether. To keep the App Store summaries up to date, Apple states that it refreshes them at least once a week. This ensures that the latest user reviews are taken into account. Those interested in individual reviews can continue to read and sort through them based on recency, helpfulness, etc. Beyond AI-powered review summaries on the App Store, iOS 18.4 beta 2 introduces seven new emojis, Visual Intelligence on the iPhone 15 Pro, new actions in the Shortcuts app, and a standalone Apple Vision Pro app. We expect the version to roll out to all users beginning next month.04:55 pmDeals: iPad A16 50% off or M3 iPad Air up to $650 off with trade, 48GB M4 Pro MacBook Pro over $300 off, more | 9 to 5 MacDeals: iPad A16 50% off or M3 iPad Air up to $650 off with trade, 48GB M4 Pro MacBook Pro over $300 off, more

In this roundup, we’ve got all the best deals on Apple’s cheapest iPad, which is currently the iPad A16 model introduced in March 2025. The 2025 iPad it the 11th generation model that replaces an 2022 iPad (10th generation) that ran on an A14 chip. The main selling point of the 2025 iPad is that it has double the storage at the entry-level, so it’s a better deal than ever. Apple has refreshed its MacBook Air lineup with the M4 processor, adding a new sky blue color option and reducing prices across the board. The 13-inch model now starts at $999, while the 15-inch begins at $1,199. Both models are available to order immediately and will ship on March 12. The updated MacBook Airs feature the same thin design as previous generations but now include the 12-megapixel Center Stage webcam found in current MacBook Pro models. Both variants come with the M4 chip, aligning them with Apple's recent Mac Mini, iMac, and MacBook Pro refreshes. Customers can upgrade to a 10-core GPU (matching the base 14-inch MacBook Pro), 32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage. Macworld Apple unveiled new 13- and 15-inch MacBook Air models Wednesday, as the company continued its week of Air-themed product announcements. The new MacBook Airs aren’t exactly groundbreaking—it’s no surprise Apple didn’t feel it necessary to save these for a blockbuster press event—but their upgrades are quietly worthwhile. They certainly outdo the previous day’s underwhelming iPad Air refresh. Like that new iPad, the new MacBooks are based around a processor upgrade: both models now run an M4 (up from an M3). That’s the newest and most powerful generation of Apple chips, so you can expect searing fast performance. Just bear in mind that it’s only the baseline edition, and the faster Pro and Max versions are still exclusive to the MacBook Pro. Performance will also be helped by an expanded range of memory allocations. After an update in October that doubled the entry-level RAM, the M3 Air was available with 16GB or 24GB of RAM, but these new models come with 16GB, 24GB, or a new option of 32GB. If you start off with the baseline configuration of the 13-inch MBA, bumping up to the full 32GB will cost you an extra $400/£400. There’s also a new camera, and this could make a big difference to remote workers who rely on videoconferencing to stay in touch. Whereas the M3 MacBook Air had a simple 1080p FaceTime camera, the new models have a 12MP Center Stage camera that supports Desk View. This might save you from having to buy a separate webcam (although Continuity Camera is another useful option). Apple The last serious improvement for professional users is that the new models support two external displays in addition to the built-in screen. MacBook Airs from just two generations back could only run a single external display, while the M3 generation bumped this up to two, but only when the lid was closed for a total of two. This latest M4 generation lets you spread out across three screens. The battery on the 13-inch model is slightly larger than that of its M3 equivalent (53.8Wh, up from 52.6Wh) but this doesn’t seem to make much difference as Apple’s battery life estimates remain the same. The 15-inch models have identical battery sizes. A more significant difference, while cosmetic, is the arrival of a new Sky Blue color, which replaces Space Gray. The other options are Silver, Starlight, and Midnight. And last, and maybe most pleasing of all, the Air has had a price cut. It now starts at $999/£999, a drop of $100/£100 on the previous generation. Preorders start today and units will ship out and appear in shops on March 12.
