Palm loses market share in 2001
New figures from market researcher NPD Techworld reveal that Palm, the number one handheld maker, lost marketshare in 2001, declining to 58 percent from 71 percent the previous year. C|net reports that during the same period, Handspring’s market share increased from 14 percent to 15 percent, while Sony’s share reached 6 percent from less than 1 percent.
