Cable Internet access grows rapidly

Cable modem subscribers in the U.S. grew by 13 percent in the fourth quarter of 2001 to 7.2 million, according to the National Cable and Telecommunications Association. The increase comes despite the folding of Excite@home, the once leading provider of cable access.
