Several Apple retail stores report having stock of the new 12-inch PowerBook G4 with Combo drive, which was introduced at Macworld Expo in San Francisco on January 7. A check of Apple Stores in New York, NY, Columbus, OH, Orlando, FL, McLean, VA and Los Angeles, CA revealed that all stores just received their initial shipment today. No stores had information on when they would receive the SuperDrive-equipped 12-inch PowerBook or the 17-inch PowerBook.

Apple also today unveiled the new 12-inch PowerBook G4, which features an 867 MHz PowerPC G4 processor, a standard slot-loading Combo (DVD-ROM/CD-RW) optical drive, NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go graphics processor with 32MB of dedicated DDR RAM, and built-in Bluetooth housed in a lightweight, durable aluminum alloy enclosure weighing just 4.6 pounds. The new 12-inch PowerBook G4 is expected to be available later this month for US$1,799.
