Apple Store employees rise to the occasion
west retail store in New York City was tested beyond it’s wildest dreams on Saturday, with an electrical power outage that affected a large part of lower Manhattan. The outage, caused by an electrical fire at a nearby sub-station, shut down power to over 63,500 residences and businesses early Saturday afternoon and continued on into Sunday. Instead of closing its doors like many retailers, the resourceful crew at the Apple store weathered the storm by demonstrating Macintosh laptops and iPods in the street and completing transactions on handwritten receipts.
