Apple’s home page notes that it has posted a QuickTime stream of the the special Mac event yesterday held in Cupertino, CA, where CEO Steve Jobs unveiled new iMacs, iLife’ 08, iWork ’08, and enhancements to its .Mac online service.

Apple has invited members of the press to a special event being held in San Jose, CA on October 12th. As is their custom, Apple has not indicated what is being announced, but the invitation shows a red curtain with the words “One more thing” written across the top. At a similar event last month, Apple unveiled the iPod nano and the Motorola Rokr phone.

Apple has posted a series of photos and a QuickTime video stream of today’s special media event in San Francisco’s Moscone Center. The company today announced the iPod nano, a partnership with a number of automobile makers for iPod integration, the plethora of iPod accessories, Harry Potter digital audiobooks on iTunes, the new Motorola iTunes-capable phone, and iTunes version 5.

Apple has sent out invitations to members of the press for a “Special Event” on Wednesday, September 7 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, notes CNET News.com. “1,000 songs in your pocket changed everything,” the invitation reads, alluding to the release of the first 5GB iPod nearly four years ago.
