Apple cuts workforce in Taiwan by 30%
According to a report from DigiTimes.com, Apple has trimmed its workforce in its Taiwan sales office by 30-40%, including a number of executives and managers. “Other sources in the local Taiwan distribution channel indicated that the workforce reduction was due to weaker sales and market share achieved by Apple Taiwan, compared to the performance of Apple’s Hong Kong branch,” notes the story. “Kong Yuk-loong, the former managing director of Apple Taiwan, submitted his resignation at the end of June.
