O’Reilly has announced the release of “AppleScript: The Missing Manual” (US$24.95) by Adam Goldstein. “In this entertaining, authoritative, straightforward guide, Goldstein provides a thorough introduction to using AppleScript to eliminate repetitive jobs, automate complicated workflows, accomplish stuff in the background, and compute faster and easier than any person ever could.”

Benjamin Waldie of Automated Workflows will be speaking to the Macintosh Users Group of Southern New Jersey at Gloucester County College in Deptford Township, New Jersey, on April 28, according to MacScripter.net. An “AppleScript Gems in Mac OS X” session will be held at Seybold Seminars San Francisco on Friday, September 12 from 2:15 – 3:15 PM. The session covers new features of AppleScript and best practices for putting together your own automated workflows. The “AppleScript Gems in Mac OS X” session will be moderated by Benjamin Waldie, CEO of Automated Workflows, LLC. Sal Soghoian, Apple’s product manager for AppleScript, will also be speaking.

The organizers of the AppleScript Pro Sessions have announced that author Ethan Wilde will be leading a session on scripting QuickTime. The five-day training event, which takes place in Monterey, CA on June 2-6, offers you the opportunity to learn more about AppleScript, the powerful built-in automation technology from Apple. The organizers also announced that they have added a new bonus session on scripting MultiAd Creator.
