As expected, Apple is offering after-Thanksgiving discounts at the online Apple Store and Apple retail stores today only.

Apple plans to open a new retail store at the Galleria shopping center in St. Louis, Missouri. MacMinute reader Jeff Geerling writes, “I was at the Galleria on Saturday night, and I noticed an Apple Store being built on the second level–there is a large white Apple logo and ‘www.apple.com’ painted on a black covering over the storefront.” Both the Galleria’s Web site and Apple’s jobs site confirm the new Apple Store. The St. Louis Galleria houses more than 165 stores, including 35 exclusive stores.

Several MacMinute readers note that Apple’s new iPod Store has added product ratings, allowing customers to submit reviews and rate products from one to five stars.

Apple will open its first retail store in Delaware this Saturday, October 16 at 10:00 a.m. The new Apple Store is located at the Christiana Mall in Newark. Like all Apple Store grand openings, free T-shirts and a Digital Lifestyle package valued at US$2,350 will be given away (package now includes an iMac G5). Curiously, Apple said it will give away only 100 shirts, compared to past store openings of 1,000.

Apple’s online store is offering a price matching policy for new purchases. From the site: “If you see Apple hardware or software for less at an authorized Apple reseller, we will match that price up to 10 percent off the current Apple Store regular price (excluding sales tax, shipping, and all other fees, costs and services).

Apple will open a new retail store in Pleasanton, California, this Saturday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m. The new Apple Store is located at the Stoneridge Mall. Like all Apple Store grand openings, 1,000 T-shirts and a Digital Lifestyle package valued at US$2,350 will be given away.

Apple plans to open its second retail store in Connecticut later this year. The new Apple Store is currently under construction in Danbury at the Danbury Fair Mall. According to ifo Apple Store, the new location will open on October 15.

Apple plans to open a new retail store in Roseville, Minnesota, on Saturday, July 24 at 10:00 a.m. The 82nd Apple Store is located on the lower level of the Rosedale Center mall.

Apple is planning to open a new retail store in West Des Moines, Iowa, at the upscale Jordan Creek Town Center. The two million square foot shopping complex, which is expected to open on August 4, 2004, will “bring a new level of shopping and entertainment to Central Iowa.” It will have three main areas: “The ‘Shopping District’ is a two level enclosed shopping center featuring a dynamic combination of upscale fashion and lifestyle retailers in a streetscape design.
