Belkin today announced its new CushTop (US$39.99 in silver, orange, and green) and PocketTop ($49.99) for portable computers. “As a cushion, the CushTop provides padded comfort between your laptop and your lap. The PocketTop acts as a case and mobile workstation, providing a built-in cooling pad and storage space for laptop accessories.

Belkin Corporation today announced new USB and FireWire Hubs that offer additional ports and that are specifically designed to stack on top of or below the Mac mini — helping to save valuable desktop space. The Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub (US$34.95) and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and FireWire 6-Port Hub ($49.95) for Mac mini feature front ports that give easy access to USB devices such as thumb drives and the iPod shuffle. Belkin today announced its new Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub, which features a top-loading port that lets you easily connect your iPod shuffle or other USB device. “Smartly packaged in a white, compact shell that complements the shuffle and the Mac mini, this Hub features a patent-pending, top-loading USB port for easy access (with 3 additional ports in the back). The Hub Connects up to 2 devices without a power adapter. It works with both Macs and PCs and comes packaged with a device cable.” The US$29.95 hub will ship in June.

iPodlounge reports that Belkin plans to introduce a Bluetooth stereo solution for the iPod next month. The new product, called TuneStage, “will consist of two components–a receiver and a transmitter–which will connect any iPod via wireless Bluetooth link to any stereo system. The receiver will connect to a stereo via 3.5-inch minijack or RCA left and right ports, and Belkin is currently considering whether to additionally include an optical TOSLink output on the final product.

Belkin today introduced the TuneBase FM, a new iPod mini accessory that lets you mount, power, charge and listen to the device while in your car. The TuneBase FM, which plugs into a cigarette lighter outlet, features a flexible-steel neck, iPod mini holder, and built-in FM transmitter. It charges and plays audio simultaneously, according to the Belkin. The TuneBase FM will begin shipping on November 22 for US$79.99.

Belkin today announced the TunePower and TuneDock for the iPod and the iPod mini. The TunePower is a rechargeable battery pack that provides 8-10 hours of additional play time and fits all size iPods. The TuneBase, a device that holds and charges your iPod mini in your vehicle, features a cradle with a flexible-steel neck that powers and charges your iPod mini simultaneously. The TunePower carries a a suggested retail price of US$99.99 and the TuneBase is priced at $49.99. Both will begin shipping October 25, 2004.

The innovative height-adjustment capability and its ratcheting-neck feature allow you to reposition your iPod mini quickly and easily. The cable-management clips eliminate loose and tangled cords.

In celebration of shipping its 1 millionth iPod accessory, Belkin announced today that it will donate 1,650 iPod Voice Recorders to Duke University’s incoming freshmen. As previously reported by MacMinute, Duke this week will distribute iPods to all freshmen as part of an initiative to encourage creative uses of technology in education and campus life.

Belkin announced today that its Digital Camera Link for iPods will ship on May 1. The US$79.99 device allows you to transfer digital photos from your camera to your iPod, freeing up disk space to take more pictures. Unlike Belkin’s iPod Media Reader that transfers photos via a memory card, the Digital Camera Link lets you transfer photos directly to your iPod via a USB cable.
