Former Apple exec sues company for wrongful termination

Tim Bucher, who headed Apple’s Macintosh Hardware Engineering until last fall, has filed suit against the company, alleging that Apple terminated him without cause and failed to pay all due compensation, reports CNET News.com. “As a result of the actions of defendant Apple, the plaintiff has suffered damages including the loss of income and emotional distress,” according to Bucher’s lawsuit. Bucher is seeking to recoup lost compensation, punitive damages and other penalties.

Mac engineering, AppleCare execs leave Apple

CNET News.com has confirmed that two Apple executives–including the Macintosh unit’s head of engineering–have quietly left the company in recent weeks. “Tim Bucher, who became head of Mac product engineering earlier this year, left the company on Nov. 15. An Apple representative confirmed the departure Monday but did not give a reason. Also departing in recent weeks was Mark Wilhelm, the vice president in charge of the company’s AppleCare support unit.
